St Clair Fit-THON to fight Childhood Cancer
Upper St. Clair Mini-THON is partnering with St. Clair Fitness for a two-day event called FitTHON to help raise awareness and funds for childhood cancer. St. Clair Fitness has graciously agreed to host a crossfit competition AND a kids fitness challenge with all proceeds given to USC Mini-THON. (The kids fitness challenge ticket page sold separately from this)
The crossfit competition will be held on Saturday, Feb. 23rd and the kids fitness challenge will held on Sunday, Feb. 24th. The fundraiser will be completely student developed and run alongside the gym's certified trainers. The workout will be modelled off The Open and winners of the activities will receive Mini-THON merch and bragging rights!
In an effort to bring the community together for a special day of battling childhood cancer, competitors from the surrounding gyms are invited to compete as well. The requirements for the competition are simple: CoEd Team, so grab a partner and be ready to compete!
Four Diamonds Mini-THONs are interactive events for students of all ages that inspire teamwork, leadership and creativity, while empowering youth and young adults through philanthropy and community service in the fight to conquer childhood cancer. Mini-THONs are modeled after the Penn State THON and have been making a difference in the lives of childhood cancer patients and their families since 1993.
Upper St. Clair High School is participating in their 3rd annual Mini-THON on April 5th, 2019. The club, with over 100 student committee members, is trying to break last year's record of $41,098 with a new record of raising $50,000 to donate to Four Diamonds. The actual event is a 12 hour dance marathon that runs from 6pm to 6am. At the beginning of the event, mini-THON opens the doors for community time where anyone is welcome to be apart of the fun for the first 3 hours. Mini-THON is a truly inspiring collaboration between the community, teachers, and students and we are proud to be apart such a special project.
