Any proceeds will help support Brew House Arts exhibition programming.----The Distillery residency is one of BHA’s longest running programs—a year-long studio residency designed to help seven Pittsburgh-based emerging artists transition into a professional artistic career by supporting a rigorous studio practice and providing professional development opportunities in a creative and affordable environment. Selected artists are given access to a private studio, mentorship, professional development programming, and are featured in the group exhibition.The title of this year’s exhibition speaks to the process of looking back, and the tendency to compare where we are with where we’ve been. This year’s artists-in-residence present seven distinct worlds, with their own unique aesthetic and material qualities, nevertheless united by a focus on the past—through memory, history, and found materials.
