Historically speaking, “Beer should never be consumed further from its source than a horse can walk in a day”. That’s a quote from the late great UK pioneer Peter Austin, often referred to as the Godfather of Microbrewing, and an early take on what it means to be local, and sustainable. Well, we don’t have any horses around the brewery. But one thing we do have is BIKES!
So every Spring, for the last fifteen years we’ve been leading a slow rolling procession of bicycles through Pittsburgh, with hundreds of pounds of FRESH LOCAL BEER in tow, as we release our Pedal Pale Ale at a mystery destination. It’s also one of our biggest charity events of the year, and this year we’re raising money for Jeremiah's Place ( https://jeremiahsplace.org/).
Below is all the info, or if you’re an old pro, you can just BUY YOUR TICKETS NOW!
On Saturday morning, April 25th, 2020, we’ll set off with a few kegs and hundreds of our GOOD FRIENDS to a mystery destination to debut this year's Pedal Pale Ale. The trip will be slow, meandering, and maybe a little surprising – especially the secret destination!
CAN WE BUY YOU A BEER? For everyone that rides, your first beer is on East End Brewing. The more riders, the more beer we have to pull… but we'll take care of that part for you.

CAN KIDS COME?
Yes. But be advised that this ride is on OPEN CITY STREETS. And of course the kids don't get a beer at the end of the ride. Maybe a Root Beer though.
TELL EVERYONE YOU KNOW:
As you know, we do LOTS of events every year... Beer Dinners, Festivals, Volunteer Days, but this ride is probably my favorite event of the year. It's a great excuse to get out on your bike with your GOOD FRIENDS for a day of group riding, some good food, some good fun, some GOOD BEER, and of course a good cause. So seriously, tell everyone you know about this. The more people we have, the more money we will raise, and the more fun it will be.
See you on the ride!
