This concert is being moved to a cool outdoor venue, The Drink Yard at 211 N. Broadway in Downtown Pittsburg. Multifarious will follow the Pittsburg High School Jazz Band.

Description: 

The PHS Jazz Band will open at 7:00 p.m. under the direction of Cooper Neil, Pitt State Music grad.

Multifarious will take the stage when the jazz band is done, between 7:30 and 8 p.m. 

This international trio features saxophonist Courtney Long, violinist Tim Snider, and cellist Susan Mayo. Known for blending genres and sonic traditions, the ensemble moves fluidly through jazz, avant-garde music, and deconstructed bluegrass, creating inventive improvisations layered with unexpected textures and sounds.  

Their work has received international airplay on BBC Radio 3’s “Freeness,” Radio Cambridge, Radio Jazz Kultura (Krakow), and WUTC Radio, reflecting the ensemble’s growing reputation on the contemporary and experimental music scene.  

The concert is being sponsored by the Kansas Arts Commission.

The venue is on artificial turf and includes lawn chairs and picnic tables. Drinks and small bites are available from The Drink, a speakeasy style pub next door.

In case of rain, the jazz band will perform at the high school, 1978 E. Fourth, and Multifarious will perform indoors at The Drink (21 and up).

The concert is free and open to the public.
