Black Diamond Mines Autumn Hike

Autumn is a delightful time of year to visit Black Diamond Mines Regional Preserve. Our route takes us to the old Rose Hill Cemetery and beyond; among the rocks and vegetation, look for signs of the mining activities that occurred here more than 100 years ago. Be sure to bring plenty of water and a snack, and dress in layers. Sturdy shoes or hiking boots are recommended; hiking poles may be useful. Heavy rain cancels. Restrooms available.

Directions: Take Highway 4 to the Somersville Road exit in Antioch, then drive south (toward the hills) on Somersville Road to the preserve entrance and continue past Sidney Flat Visitor Center to the end of Somersville Road.

Anyone under the age of 18 will need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

No. On the hike day, we will have a roster with your registration information on it. Please make sure to check in with the hike leader.
