We are taking our classic Lower Pitt River route and adding a whole new element of magic: golden hour lighting and navigating the return in the dark. It is an unforgettable way to build your water confidence while exploring a hidden local gem with a great community.

What to expect:
1) Golden Hour Magic: A scenic 12km round-trip journey starting with a sunset paddle down the Lower Pitt River and a relaxing float through the hidden marsh loop.

2) Safe Progression: Did you know most paddlers cross this river unsafely? We will teach you the river anatomy and crossing skills needed to handle this waterway 100% confidently, even after the sun goes down.

3) Nightfall Navigation: We will take breaks for snacks and photos, grab a quick stretch on a gravel beach, and paddle back alongside your fellow aspiring adventurers using our headlamps.

Event Details:
Date & Time: Saturday, Oct 10. Meetup at 4:30pm, Launch at 5:15pm.
Location: Grant Narrows Park (Meet at the grass area left of the day-use launch).
Cost: $40 per paddler (Parking is $10 at the Canoe shop).

Gear Checklist:
Bring your own SUP & safety gear, a dry bag with dinner and snacks, 3L of water min, warm fall clothing, and a headlamp (100 lumens min) plus a secondary light.
If your board has a seat option, bring it!

Skill Level: Aspiring Adventurers (Strong paddling skills required for the 12km distance and dark crossing).
