Political punk has never been better when the intensely talented group are taking their crack at it, crafting a range of garage and punk rock jams that are perfect for a mosh-pit in Washington D.C. The hard-working, mostly-female group are tackling real issues through raw, authentic, punk-filled musical bangers.
DISCOVER: däj trío
däj trío is a brand new jazz trio project out of the depths of the musically-rich Coachella Valley desert. The dynamic three piece band features a crop of desert rock music legends, such as the enigmatic, bass-thumping champion of Sleazy Cortez and Throw the Goat Derek Timmons, former Queens of the Stone Age and Kyuss drummer Alfredo Hernandez, and the tremendous trumpeter/powerful pianist Jackie Watson from Bay Area funk masters Dot 3.
Alongside Kyuss, Queens of the Stone Age and Fatso Jetson, the band Sort of Quartet made waves in the ‘90s, and helped turned the Coachella Valley music scene into a global phenomenon. The band, which was an extension of desert rock legends Yawning Man, made fans across the globe, including Timmons, who although many miles away, became a fan of the desert rock sound. Hernandez and Watson have held a tight musical bond ever since, and teaming up with Timmons has made for a three-way match in sonic heaven.
The trio are set to record their debut at Dave Grohl’s Studio 606 in 2025
