A new year is quickly approaching and once again Allison and Tammy are planning a New Year's Day mystery quilt.
So what do you need to bring?
• Your sewing machine and basic sewing supplies.
• To avoid congestion at the ironing boards and cutting table, bring a rotary cutter/tableside mat and a personal iron and ironing pad, if you have them.
• A straight edge ruler and the following Creative Grids rulers:

Finish Line Quilting 1634 Hyland Park Drive Pineville, La. 71360 The class will be from 10 am until 4:30 pm and you can expect to finish about ¼ of the quilt in class.
It's time to pick some fabrics!
I used 2 specialty rulers. Bonnie Hunter Essential Triangle Tool and Doug Leko Simple Folded Corners ruler. The following cutting instructions assume you will be using these rulers so call me if you are not so I can give you alternate strip sizes.
You will also need 3 yards of background. I used yardage but scraps will work as long as they are all a similar shade and contrast with all your fat quarters. I made a cutting error and I still had enough.
And finally you will need 20 fat quarters. I used a packaged bundle but you could also choose a theme such as batiks, reproductions or brights and build your own.
I'm assembling the class sample and it is a really fun quilt that goes together quickly.
If you would like, you can precut your background.
6 2 1/2" strips
6 4 1/2" strips
- subcut into 80 4 1/2" squares
13 3" strips
- subcut into 49 3 x 9 1/2" rectangles
We will cut the fat quarters in class so we can make recommendations based on your fabric selections.
