Cumberland is a 𝟱𝟲𝟬-𝗵𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗻𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗲 just east of Pietermaritzburg, offering an incredible mix of savanna, woodland, wetlands, deep valleys, cliffs, waterfalls and beautiful wooded gorges.

It's a fantastic destination for 𝗻𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗹𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀, 𝗵𝗶𝗸𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘀𝗰𝗮𝗽𝗲 𝗽𝗵𝗼𝘁𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗽𝗵𝗲𝗿𝘀. 📸

The reserve is rich in wildlife and biodiversity, including:

A challenging hike taking us down to the bottom of the spectacular big waterfall.

Approximately 7 km | ±4 hours

This is a challenging route with lots of steep and technical sections.

Hike to the 𝗵𝗶𝗴𝗵𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗽𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗲, with incredible views stretching across the surrounding landscape.
