On Saturday, September 6, 2025, at 9:30 a.m., the Foundation of Hope invites you to Hyde Stadium in Pierre for the annual Walk of Hope—a powerful gathering where each step taken reflects our shared commitment to healing, connection, and a future filled with possibility.
This isn’t just a walk. It’s a heartfelt reminder that there is hope in every step—whether you're honoring a loved one lost to suicide, supporting someone facing mental health challenges, or simply showing up for your community. Together, our footsteps form a path toward resilience, awareness, and change.
Our Mission in Action
Because of the compassion and generosity of supporters like you, the Foundation of Hope has made meaningful progress in advancing suicide prevention and mental health awareness across central South Dakota. In the past year, we have:
- Offered community trainings like Mental Health First Aid, Youth Mental Health First Aid, and Question, Persuade, Refer (QPR).
- Provided specialized clinical education on the assessment, management, and treatment of suicidality.
- Delivered outreach materials and comfort to those grieving a suicide loss.
- Partnered with Lost&Found’s Survivors Joining For Hope to offer financial assistance to those impacted by suicide loss.
- Promoted the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline with yard signs, posters, and a digital billboard—keeping lifesaving help visible and accessible.
Looking Ahead
With your continued support, we’re stepping forward into the year ahead with renewed purpose. Your involvement in the 2025 Walk of Hope will help us:
- Launch a local support group for suicide loss survivors.
- Expand access to community and professional training.
- Extend outreach to underserved neighboring communities.
- Strengthen resilience-building initiatives for youth in schools and youth-serving organizations
- In each of these goals, there is hope in every step—hope that grows stronger when we walk together.
