We are asking that you provide a donation at the door (suggested $15). 

This money will go directly to Resiliency Through Education Chipper's Legacy Bursary Fund, a $1000 bursary awarded to a graduating student from Northumberland Regional High School annually. 

There will be coffee, tea, and other refreshments as well as a spread of tasty treats for you to enjoy. 

Come and peruse the books that others have brought, catch up with friends and neighbours and leave with a fabulous new read. 

About this fundraising initiative: 

The Resiliency Through Education Chipper's Legacy Bursary Fund grew out of a desire to honour the life of Sylvia (Chipper) MacKenzie who overcame significant obstacles in life but always maintained the belief that education was a pathway to empowerment. The Bursary has become a way to support local youth to explore their own path through education. 

Adrianna MacKenzie, a school counsellor at NRHS, started this fund in memory of her mother. She is passionate about making post-secondary education a little more feasible for local graduates, especially those who have faced and overcome significant adversity in their lives. 

Last year was the first time a $1000 bursary was awarded. The nomination process will begin soon for this year’s recipient.
