- **Event Description**: Step into a relaxed, high-value space designed for people who are building something meaningful. Whether you’re launching a new idea, growing a business, or exploring what’s next, this is a place to connect with like-minded people, share openly, and feel supported along the way.

This isn’t your typical networking event. There’s no pressure to pitch or perform — just genuine conversations, fresh perspectives, and real connection with people who understand the journey.

This event is open to startup founders, small business owners, creatives, coaches, consultants, side hustlers, and anyone curious about starting something of their own.

The evening is designed to feel welcoming, engaging, and easy to step into. You’ll be guided through light connection activities, open or facilitated conversations, and opportunities to share ideas, challenges, and wins. There’s space for collaboration, reflection, and casual chats that often lead to something more.

More than just contacts, you’ll leave with real connections, new ideas, and a sense of momentum. Expect support from people who genuinely “get it,” along with opportunities to collaborate and grow alongside others on a similar path.

Bring your ideas, your goals, or simply your curiosity. Come as you are, meet your people, and leave feeling inspired and connected.

October Topic: How to Stay Sane in a Crazy World (and How to Help Others)
Entrepreneurship and innovation can be exciting, purposeful and deeply rewarding - but the pressure of building something meaningful can also take a serious toll on the person behind the work.

Sleepless nights can be mistaken for dedication. Constant stress can be worn as a badge of ambition. We keep working harder, believing it’s simply what success requires - until our health, decisions and relationships begin to suffer.

For our October meet-up, we’re bringing this often-unspoken side of entrepreneurship and innovation into the open.

We’ll be joined by Trevor and Annie Boulton, who have spent more than 25 years building innovative digital and educational solutions while personally navigating the psychological demands of entrepreneurship and life.

Together, they founded Boultons MultiMedia in 1995 and later shifted towards designing mental-health education programs for schools and communities. This work grew directly from their own intense experiences with mental illness and burnout.

Rather than hiding what they went through, Trevor and Annie transformed their experiences and the lessons they gained into resources that could help others. Their journey led them to write How to Stay Sane in a Crazy World (and How to Help Others) and to continue sharing what they’ve learned through podcasts and YouTube.

Drawing from their own journey, Trevor and Annie will share what helped them better understand:

🧠 How the brain and body can respond to prolonged pressure
😴 Why sleep matters when making decisions and pursuing goals
🔥 The hidden cost of constantly trying to work harder
🥗 How caring for their nutrition, hydration and physical wellbeing supported them
🔄 Why old behaviours can return during stressful periods
🤝 The value they found in supportive relationships and like-minded people
⚖️ The importance of balance while pursuing meaningful goals
❤️ What their experiences taught them about supporting others

This isn’t about discouraging ambition. It’s about learning from two people who have experienced the cost of burnout and found more sustainable ways to build, create and move forward.

This event is part of Night Studio, HBNC's after-hours learning program for adults. Night Studio offers practical, engaging workshops designed to help you build skills, explore new ideas, and connect with others in a supportive environment.
