About the event

Nothing But The Sax

Enjoy an evening with 3 national recording smooth jazz saxophonists jamming on the same night on the same stage at the same time!

Dee Lucas

National recording artist and saxophonist Dee Lucas has been noted as the hardest-working artist in contemporary jazz while steadily growing his brand and fan base beginning with Remembrance in 2004. After that it has been a steady showcase of unique stylings with Something to Ride 2 (2007) Standing Room Only (2010) Rebirth of the Smooth (2012) The Smooth Factor (2014) Going Deeper (2016) The Sweet Spot (2017) Going Left (2018) and the critically-acclaimed The Time Is Now (2020) and Twenty (2024). “The Time Is Now” marked his 9th worldwide release and is arguably considered his best work to date. It was positioned on several music charts including the Billboard Top 20 Smooth Jazz charts with the hit single ‘Full Tilt’. It also was nominated for an Indie Soul Smooth Jazz Album of the Year award. In 2022 Lucas released two singles titled ‘Hot Ice’ featuring keyboardist Gino Rosaria and ‘Sir Dee’ as a prelude to his 10th album “No Boundaries” to be released in March 2023. Both singles hit #1 on several smooth jazz charts and have become an instant fan favorite.

Marqueal Jordan

A Los Angeles native who spent his teen years in Kansas City KS Marqueal has been in Chicago’s music-rich city since 1995. By the early 2000s he was highly in demand to perform with the top musicians and bands in the city. In 2008 being so impressed by his playing and singing smooth jazz star Brian Culbertson offered Marqueal a spot in his touring band and over the next 10 years Marqueal traveled the world with Brian appeared in two DVDs and was featured on four albums. The exposure gave him the confidence and desire to become a solo artist. Marqueal’s solo debut album Catalyst was released in October 2013. It helped to establish him as an emerging artist in Smooth & Contemporary Jazz. In 2019 he released his second project Intention & Purpose. The album yielded two Top 20 hits on the Billboard Smooth Jazz Singles Chart “If You Only Knew” and “The Edge”. Marqueal’s current album All We Have Are Moments was released in early 2022. The album contains singles “Last Call” and “Sistas” which are well received by SiriusXM Watercolors and Smooth Jazz Radio. In addition to leading and touring with his band Marqueal occasionally tours with legendary band The Isley Brothers.
