Experience a traditional Japanese tea ceremony at the Garden!
Authentic tea ceremonies for the public are held at the Japanese Friendship Garden one Saturday of each month, October through July. Sign up online by choosing your desired date and time through the ticket link for this event.
The ceremonies are presented by Tanko Kai tea group, wearing beautiful kimono in our Musoan tea house. Guests are met at the Garden's entry gate and conducted to the tea house by a docent who explains features in the tea garden and other interesting facts about the tea house itself.
Admission:
$35.00 per seating
$30.00 for seniors (62+) and Garden Members
Seating is limited and fills up fast. Payment is required at the time of reservation.
Each ceremony has a choice of 6 seating times:
Seating 1: 9:30 AM
Seating 2: 10:15 AM
Seating 3: 11:00 AM
Seating 4: 12:30 PM
Seating 5: 1:15 PM
Seating 6: 2:00 PM
*The whole experience lasts approximately 1 hour.
*Max capacity of 10 guests per seating.
*Tea ceremonies require complete silence for a duration of 30 minutes. Guests must be age 12 years or older, as the seating may have other guests apart from your group.
