Corcoran Holt is a bassist, composer, educator, and Assistant Professor of Jazz Bass at Arizona State University. A Washington, DC native, Holt has performed and recorded with many of today’s most respected voices while cultivating a sound rooted in lineage, groove, and fearless expression.
On Saturday, February 28th, he celebrates the release of his sophomore album Freedom of Art, joined by an exceptional ensemble featuring Stacy Dillard (tenor & soprano saxophones), Benito Gonzalez (piano), Josh Evans (trumpet), and Kweku Sumbry (drums & djembe), with Special Guest Lewis Nash.
Freedom of Art reflects Holt’s commitment to creative authenticity—blending swing, spiritual depth, modern textures, and community storytelling. Through his performances, teaching, and leadership, Holt continues to build bridges between generations while boldly shaping the future of the music.
