"Kampuchea: Death & Rebirth": First documentary shot in Phnom Penh after Pol Pot

Using the first footage shot of Cambodia after the Khmer Rouge were ousted by the Vietnamese in 1979, the documentary KAMPUCHEA: DEATH AND REBIRTH (1980, 90 min) by Walter Heynowski and Gerhard Scheumann explores, through a range of interviews with Cambodian people and officials, and detailed visual investigation, how the Khmer Rouge had utterly devastated the ‘pearl of Asia’, Cambodia.
