# Event Details

- **Event Name**: Winter Adaptations Walk
- **Event Start and End Date**: Sat, 13 Dec, 2025 at 10:00 am
- **Event Description**: Ever wonder how plants and animals survive and thrive in the winter?

During this walk, we’ll discuss several cold-weather adaptations, like animal fur and skeletal structures, and the bark and buds of plants. We’ll also take notice of any first-hand examples we come across on the trail!

This walk is great for all ages and a way to see that even in winter, life still abounds.

What to expect: We will walk one mile along the Waterfall Way trail, which features a typical grade of 6% and mixed terrain of packed earth, bog bridges, and exposed roots. Bench seating is available at various points along the trail and at the mid point of the walk, we will stop at the recently completed Levy Lookout to appreciate the falls! Learn more details about the trail here.

What to bring: Please bring water and wear weather-appropriate clothing and footwear. Bringing a way to take notes (e.g., a smartphone, camera, or notebook) is recommended for this program! Social, leashed dogs are welcome, but please bring a bag for waste.

We are proud to offer this program for free to the public with a suggested five-dollar donation. This gift will allow CLC to continue offering programs like these at no cost and support land conservation work.
