You’ll also gain exposure to modern tools and innovations in the fashion industry within the CIT Woden fashion studios. By the end of the course, you’ll be able to confidently repair and alter your own garments using skills transferable to home use.This is a non-accredited short course.Eligibility and entry requirementsTo enrol in this course, you must be aged 17 years or older, and be one of the following: an Australian citizen or permanent resident a New Zealand citizen the holder of a permanent humanitarian visa an eligible temporary visa holder as defined in the CIT Admission and Enrolment Policy.   Delivery modeFace-to-face course delivered on-campus over 6 weeks (3 hours per week)What you will learnHow to use industrial sewing machinery.Different sewing techniques used to alter and repair garments, including industrial sewing machinery and hand sewing.The concept of sustainability in fashion.Who this course is forCreative fashion enthusiasts wanting to have a better understanding of garment construction, alteration and repair.Home sewers and dressmakers.Those considering further study or career options in the clothing industry.
