Registration is required.Women for Greater Philadelphia, Inc. is a nonprofit, 501(c)(3), corporation of volunteers. It was founded in 1972 and incorporated in 1973 under the name Women for the Bicentennial as a non-profit, service organization. Its purpose at that time was to cooperate with the City of Philadelphia in celebrating the nation’s 200th anniversary in 1976. At the end of 1976 the name was changed to Women for Greater Philadelphia, WFGP. We are the stewards of the historic Philadelphia park house Laurel Hill Mansion, the creators of cultural events, educational programs, and preservers of history. Since 1987 each March we have hosted a Women’s History event at Laurel Hill Mansion where the contributions of women are recognized.
