Inspired by Philadelphia Poet Laureate Yolanda Wisher's poem  , this workshop invites community members to explore the history, ideals, contradictions, and evolving meaning of American democracy through conversation, writing, and reflection.With guided discussion and creative responses, participants will engage with questions about freedom, justice, civic responsibility, and the future of democracy while connecting personal experiences to broader civic themes.We are so honored and thrilled to lead this workshop on the site where the Declaration of Independence was written, 250 years ago! Thank you to the National Park Service for making that possible. Join us as we create space for thoughtful dialogue, shared learning, and community reflection. Free and open to all, the space has a maximum capacity of 25. RSVPs are required.  Window Keeper: Community Workshops is an initiative of PA Humanities. Support is provided in part by the National Endowment for the Arts, Pennsylvania state legislators, the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development, and individual donor Randall Miller.
