LOCATION! We will be in the church parish hall at St. Mary's at Penn, 3916 Locust Walk, Philadelphia, PA, 19104. The Parish Hall at St. Mary's at Penn is located at 3916 Locust Walk. The church is between 39th and 40th Streets, on a pedestrian-only portion of Locust Street on the Penn Campus. The parish hall is located closer to Irving St, in the same building as the St. Mary's Nursery School. You can follow our signs to enter through the back of the building to access the hall. Nora and the Nifties is Lehigh Valley based musicians Nora Vaughan and Bridger Dunnagan playing with Hudson Valley based musicians Susan Sterngold and Mike Resnick. They will be joined by local bassist Heidi Sanders Germain. Expect awesome tunes the key of C! Keith Brand is a Professor and a faculty member of the Radio Television & Film Department at Rowan University. He teaches courses in Sound Communication and Radio Production. Mr. Brand was the host of Sleepy Hollow on WXPN FM for twenty seven years. He is also a freelance journalist, producing features for NPR's 'All Things Considered', 'Weekend Edition Saturday', and 'Justice Talking'. Mr. Brand has also designed sound and music for Independence Seaport Museum exhibits and People's Light and Theater Company plays. In addition to his work as a creative artist, Mr. Brand is also board chair of PhillyCAM, Philadelphia’s public access media center. He has been calling square dances for decades, and is also a highly regarded clawhammer banjo player based in West Philly. He has played with many groups over the years, such as The Hazel Nuts and the Hix. As usual - doors at 7, Dance at 7:30pm, last waltz at 9:30pm, snacks and chats and jams to follow. All dances are taught, beginners welcome.
