Dog waste left on the ground can wash into storm drains and eventually enters our local creeks and streams, worsening water quality and negatively impacting aquatic plants and animals. That is exactly why the Philadelphia Water Department (PWD) is seeking one special dog to represent the city as its 2025 Spokesdog! The PWD Spokesdog will help to educate dog owners around the city about the importance of picking up after your pup to help improve water quality. The Spokesdog will represent the Philadelphia Water Department as its official doggy mascot through appearances at in-person events and educational campaigns.Spokesdog Competition Event DetailsDate: Sunday, June 8Time: 2 - 5 PMLocation: The Boozy Mutt, 2639 Poplar Street, Philadelphia, PA 19130How will the Spokesdog be chosen?During the event, dogs and their owners will be asked to participate in several stations, including dog waste and tap water trivia, a guessing game, dog poop cornhole, trick display and costume contest.
