- **Event Description**: Explore Navy and Marine Corps records to uncover your military ancestors’ stories in America’s rise to naval power.About this EventFrom the Revolutionary War to the Korean War, the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps forged an unbreakable partnership that shaped America's rise as a global power. This lecture explores how these "brothers in arms" evolved from a fledgling Continental Navy and handful of Marines into the world's dominant sea services, in becoming the cornerstone of American naval strategy. We will also examine how genealogical research and historical scholarship have uncovered the personal stories of individual service members, revealing the human dimension behind more than two centuries of naval transformation and triumph.This event is being offered in a hybrid format. Both onsite and virtual tickets are available. Strauss, AG, is a military historian with more than 30 years of experience in the field. He has a BA in History from Shepherd University and a MA in HIstory from the University of Massachusetts, Boston and is a veteran of the United States Coast Guard. His expertise is recognized in the courts of New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Virginia, where he has provided testimony as an expert witness.
