Its ministries feed hundreds of families through a twice-monthly grocery and clothing share, nurture children through its Freedom School summer program, uplift women's health through the Pan-African Sisterhood Health Initiative, and teach peace through the Mpatapo Peace Works curriculum, grounded in Quaker testimony and African-centered values.Unity Friends Meeting worships in the 1775 meetinghouse at 4371 Waln Street — the oldest known Quaker-related meetinghouse in Philadelphia. Its walls carry nearly two and a half centuries of witness, including its role sheltering freedom seekers on the Underground Railroad, and its grounds were among the few places where enslaved people were permitted to be buried with dignity.
