Basic Dog Training at the Pennsylvania SPCA
Wednesdays, July 11th -August 15th from 7-8pm
This class is recommended for adult dogs and puppies over 5 months old who haven’t attended training classes before. We will cover basic cues such as eye contact, sit, down, coming when called, impulse control, leash skills, and more, while also learning how to strengthen the bond between you and your dog.
If your dog is dog-reactive, please contact us before enrolling to discuss whether a group class is most appropriate. You can reach out to our dog training instructor Vic Gasser MSc, CPDT-KSA, at (215) 426-6300 x 266 or email at dmdhc3NlciB8IHBzcGNhICEgb3Jn.
Do not feed your dog prior to class. We need dogs to be hungry and ready to work!
Exercise your dog before class so they are easier to handle.
Keep your dog away from other dogs at all times.
Appropriate walking equipment: a flat or martingale collar, or a no-pull harness or head halter; no choke or prong collars please.
Bring 4 or 5 different tasty treats in a bait bag or fanny pack.
Bring a favorite toy.
There are no make-up classes for a missed class. It will be considered a forfeited class.
No refunds shall be granted once the class has begun.
Proof of current vaccinations (Rabies & DHPP) is required.
