# Event Details - **Event Name**: Appliqué Patches - **Event Start and End Date**: Wed, 18 Nov, 2026 at 06:30 pm – Wed, 18 Nov, 2026 at 09:00 pm (-05:00) - **Event Description**: Create appliqué patches to transform your old clothing into one-of-a-kind outfits!About this EventSTITCH AND DESTROY are upcycling experts, one of our favorite uses of scrap material are Appliqué Patches!Creating your own patches is one of the easiest and most freeform ways to add uniqueness to a garment!In this workshop, you will get to design and create your own fabric patches using scraps. We’ll teach you how to add stabilizer, turning it into a “fabric sticker” and a few techniques to sew it onto your clothes, including using a zig zag stitch, blanket stitch and free motion embroidery!All materials to create your patch included, all you have to bring is a top from your closet and your patch ideas. We suggest bringing a t-shirt, tank top, button down, or a light jacket with no lining.Please do not bring tight-fitting clothing, sweaters or heavy jackets as they will be difficult to sew.We will be sewing on Singer Brilliance machines. We recommend having some experience with machine sewing. This workshop is open to folks 16+.Space is limited in our studio- we are able to accommodate 6 attendees. Our address is 523 S 4th St. Philadelphia, PA 19147.There is limited metered street parking on our block and in this area it can be difficult to find parking. We suggest taking public transportation- Bus 40, 57, 12, 47, 42 and 21 are nearby. The Market-Frankford Line 5th St stop is 7 blocks away. The Broad Street Line Lombard-South stop is 10 blocks away.Please arrive on time so that the workshop can begin at 6:30 PM.We do have a bathroom available to attendees. The studio/workshop space is up 4 steps of stairs, making this workshop not wheelchair accessible.
