- **Event Description**: Come and join Meon Trails for this gorgeous 7 mile country walk in the South Downs National Park.

Starting in the picturesque village of East Meon, this invigorating country walk follows a section of the South Downs Way, offering sweeping views of rolling chalk hills, ancient woodlands, and open farmland. We start with a gentle ascent out of the village, soon joining the South Downs Way as it climbs to the south affording some fine views towards the coast and the Isle of Wight.

The path meanders through peaceful beech woods and past historic field boundaries, eventually arriving at the Sustainability Centre—a haven for eco-conscious living nestled in the heart of the Downs. We will stop here for refreshments at the Beech café before we continue our journey.

The return leg loops back via quiet bridleways and country lanes, passing the source of the River Meon, before descending gradually into East Meon. Along the way, you may spot red kites overhead or catch a glimpse of a deer in the open fields. The walk finishes back in the village, where you will be welcome to join us at Ye Olde George inn for a well earned beverage.  They serve lunch 12 till 3pm.  George Inn East Meon
