- **Event Description**: WVTE’s is proud to announce the Spring Musical, Disney’s Newsies!  It is a Disney film which has become a Tony-award winning Broadway show, which features a score by Alan Menken and Jack Feldman and a book by Harvey Fierstein.  Both the movie and the musical are currently on Disney +.

It is set in turn-of-the century New York City, it tells of a David versus Goliath story, with Jack Kelly, who is a leader of a band of newspaper boys, who decides to strike against unfair working conditions against the titans of publishing, and fight for what is right.

The show will be directed by Ravenna Redman, and produced by Ashley Anderson.  Greg Foley will be the musical director.  Choreographed are Aimee Chave, Karnsy Kimble, and Kelly Crites-Roth. 

Shows and auditions will take place at the Landes Art Center in the Harr Theatre in Petersburg, West Virginia.

March 8, 2026 at 2:00 PM
March 13, 2026 at 7:00 PM
March 14, 2026 at 7:00 PM
March 15, 2026 at 2:00 PM

Auditions dates are:
	December 29, 2025 at 6:00 PM
	December 30, 2025 at 6:00 PM
	January 3, 2026 at 10:00 AM

Callback date is January 4, 2026 at 2:00 PM.

For auditions, please come to the back door of the theater.  Please have a song that your are able to perform, and wear comfortable clothing in order to dance and move.  If you wish to try out for a specific part from the show, go ahead and  prepare a piece from the show, specific to that character.


NEWSIES is presented through special arrangement and licensure with Music Theatre International (MTI).  All authorized performance materials are also supplied by MTI.  www.mtishows.com
