This class will meet over two evenings: Tuesday, January 13 and Wednesday, January 14, from 5:00–7:30 pm.

Join local artist Ashley Lohr for a relaxed, hands-on “make and take” oil painting class inspired by bold foliage and flowers. Working in her colorful, folk art–inspired style, Ashley draws on a love of pattern, symmetry, and vibrant color to create designs that are both playful and inspiring. She fosters a welcoming, encouraging environment where artists of all skill levels can feel comfortable, confident, and creative.

You’ll create a symmetrical floral composition from start to finish, beginning with a decorative drawing that is transferred onto 9" x 12" black paper mounted on wood. With guided instruction, you’ll learn basic oil painting techniques, including color mixing, simple color theory, and working with opaque and transparent paints using brushes and palette knives.

All materials are provided, and you’ll leave with a finished painting ready to display—perfect for beginners and anyone looking for a fun, creative evening.
