# Event Details - **Event Name**: Always A Bridesmaid Show - **Event Start and End Date**: Sat, 26 Jul, 2025 at 07:00 pm – Sat, 26 Jul, 2025 at 09:00 pm - **Event Description**: West Virginia Theater East proudly announces the cast of Jones Hope Wooten’s “Always a Bridesmaid,” through special arrangement with Dramatists Play Service Inc. Kari Ames- Bissette, a late 20s, compassionate, lively Southern woman played by Julie Bowen, a Hardy County native is returning to West Virginia Theater East for her summer break. During the year, she lends her acting abilities to the Rude Mechanicals at Shepherd University. Her last local production was in McCoy’s Freaky Friday, last summer. Libby Ruth Ames is a hopeless romantic in her late 40s, and Kari’s mother is played by Karnsy Kimble. Karnsy is returning to the stage after taking a break since playing Cat in The Hat in WVTE’s Seussical. She never left the theater, though, doing major roles in the background as a recent choreographer in WVTE’s Annie, and costumes for all of West Virginia Theater’s East’s plays. Monette Gentry is a flamboyant Southern heartbreaker played by Kelly Crites-Roth. Kelly is returning to the stage after taking a break since playing Maysie in WVTE’s Seussical, although like Karnsy, she also provided her choreography expertise to WVTE’s Annie. Charlie Collins is a tree-hugging, Birkenstock-wearing, free-spirited Southern woman, played by LuAnn Edge. LuAnn is returning to WVTE’s stage after a hiatus, and we are so glad she came back! Deedra Wingate is a Northern transplant, with a dry humor, and a no-sense attitude played by newcomer Ammie Ruddle, although new to WVTE’s stage, she has years of experience acting in shows, and is excited to be on stage again. Sedalia Ellicott, is in control, gregarious, Virginia Hostess of Laurelton Oaks, which is the venue where these lively weddings take place, played by Ravenna Redman, who is returning to the stage after a brief acting break, with her last role in WVTE’s The Picture of Dorian Gray, and Grandma Helene in McCoy’s Freaky Friday. She is more comfortable on the production side, with directing WVTE’s Annie, and assisting with producing. “Always a Bridesmaid,” is Aimee Cardot’s directorial debut! She brings energy, and a comedic edge to the show. Aimee most recently played Ms. Hanigan in WVTE’s Annie! June Hencke is our producer, and Tom Hencke will be doing the set. “Always a Bridesmaid,” is about four friends who on the night of their Senior Prom, promise to be in each other’s weddings, no matter what. Over thirty years later, this group of friends continue to walk down the aisle for each other, even though there are some hilarious obstacles that attempt to prevent it. Show dates are July 18th, 19th, 25th, 26th, 2025 at 7:00 PM, and July 20th, and 27th at 2:00 pm at the Landes Art Center, Harr Theatre, Petersburg, West Virginia.
