Join the Central PA Mushroom Club for our annual Bill Russell Foray, a weekend retreat for mushroom enthusiasts of all experience levels in the heart of Pennsylvania.

Set at Camp Golden Pond in Petersburg, the foray brings together mycologists, naturalists, and curious beginners for three days of foraging, learning, and community. Registration includes all primary activities, meals, and lodging (rustic bunkhouse-style cabin or tent camping).

This year's keynote speaker is Emma Richter, a Maine-based amateur mycologist, officer of the Northeast Mycological Federation, and recently-elected president of the Maine Mycological Association. Her presentation, "How to Appreciate Crust Fungi," explores the diversity and ecological importance of crust fungi, a group of wood-decaying fungi often overlooked due to their inconspicuous form.

Weekend activities include:
- Guided mushroom collecting walks
- Mushroom identification tables
- Concurrent workshops and breakout sessions
- A cooking demonstration
- A silent auction
- Evening presentations and campfires

Registration is $125 for CPMC members and members of NAMA-affiliated clubs in PA, $145 for non-members (includes CPMC membership for the remainder of 2026), and $50 for youth under 18 accompanied by a parent or guardian.
