# Event Details - **Event Name**: Longhaven botanical outing - **Event Start and End Date**: Sun, 14 Jun, 2026 at 10:15 am – Sun, 14 Jun, 2026 at 05:00 pm - **Event Description**: Discover the coastal botany of this less-visited part of North East Scotland.About this EventThe Trust's reserve at Longhaven contains a variety of coastal grasslands, wet and dry heath, sea cliffs and a small amount of perched saltmarsh. The sheltered bays provide a home to plants more typical of woodlands.Owing to the exposed clifftop paths we cannot allow children or dogs, and please consider individual mobility and fitness before signing up. Bring lunch and appropriate outdoor clothing and footwear as the car sharing arrangements mean leaving early is not an option. Likewise, do not book if you cannot commit to the full day. Don't forget your sunscreen!Owing to VERY limited parking on site we want ALL cars to meet in the Bullers of Buchan car park (grid reference: NK106380) and be ready for a car share departure to the site at 10:15am. People using the public bus from Aberdeen (please inform us beforehand if you are intending on arriving by bus) should get off in the small village of Longhaven (arrives 10:30am) and walk northeast up the road for 200m to the small car park.Booking essential.
