TheraEd LIVE: setting up therapy and counselling in schools

Welcome to TheraEd LIVE! Join us for an explorative event focusing on how to approach schools and set up a therapy and counselling service. This in-person event will be held at the Peterborough Museum & Art Gallery.

Led by experienced practitioners in education and mental health, this training will give you the tools, frameworks, and confidence to set up effective therapeutic provision that supports both students and staff.

Info: This session is rooted in real-world experience. We’ll share practical tools and case examples from our own work in primary, secondary, alternative, and specialist settings. Whether you're on placement, volunteering, or working through an organisation—we welcome your insights and questions.

Together, we’ll explore best practice for:

• Finding & Pitching for Therapy Work in Schools: how to approach schools, what to offer, and how to make your work stand out

• Funding and Contracting: understanding school budgets, creating proposals, and getting paid fairly

• Referrals and consent: navigating gatekeepers, parental engagement, and informed consent processes
