Bringing a poetry slam back to Peterborough for Christmas? That's a Good Shout, mate...
Unfamiliar with a poetry slam? Well, the premise is this...
Each poet has 3 minutes to impress the audience, who will then score them out of 10. Think strictly come words.
Our slammers will compete over the course of two rounds, and the winner will walk away with a (very) humble prize and the honour of being Peterborough's Inaugural (sort of) Good Shout Slam Champion! All in time for Christmas!
And if competitive poetry wasn't enough, we are joined by the epic Sammy Nour!
Sammy Nour is a performance poet hailing from Leicester. His material ranges from everyday observations to perspectives on political and societal issues, as well as exploring the identity of his Irish-Palestinian heritage. His first collection, 'Platform 7' was published with SanRoo Publishing in October 2021.
Sammy is the co-founder of Some-Antics Spoken Word, Leicester’s third best poetry night. Some-Antics is an event and writers’ collective dedicated to free expression and providing opportunities for performance and artistic development.
