Natural Cord and Spinning Thread Making Workshop
Join us at the Westraven Community Garden on March 7, 2026 at 10:30am for a fun, hands-on workshop! Learn how to create natural cords and spin your own thread using traditional techniques. It’s a great chance to get creative, connect with nature, and meet fellow craft lovers. No experience needed and all materials will be provided.
This event is part of the Different Leaf zine in the Syntax Calendar. Attendees will have the opportunity to try a make cord with natural fibers without a spindle as well as hand spinning with spindles and wool.
A light lunch will be provided. All food is vegetarian or vegan. If you have any specific dietary requirements, please let us know.
This event is for 16+ year old.
This session will be hosted by Carol Tierney from Wyrdsisters and Lauren Kendrick, Syntax.
Carol is a Viking re-enactor, dog lover and proud Granny. She can usually be found wandering the fens, making up stories and complaining that her bike has broken.
