We are delighted to be able to welcome back once again musicians from The City of Peterborough Concert Band, for their annual appearance at our December Piccolo.
We're never quite sure what the band will have in store for us, but it's sure to include plenty of Christmas favourites as well as the odd nursery rhyme, and Henry Clydesdale, the band's leader and conductor, will be introducing each of the different instruments to the children and also taking requests!
As ever, doors open at 10am and the music starts at 10.30. Admission is £4 per adult, £2 per child and adults and children must look after each other, so no adults without children or vice versa. There are free refreshments (tea/coffee/squash and biscuits) for all. Additional donations for the refreshments are welcome!
Don't forget to wear your Christmas jumpers! We'll have a group photo for those who want one at the end of the concert.
The band will also be performing at the St John's Christmas Concert "Christmas Together" at 7pm on 12th December, together with the St John's Adult Choir, the St John's Junior Choir, and the Junior Choir of St Luke's RC Church Orton Malbourne.
Piccolo is a monthly concert for young children, held in St John's Church in the centre of Peterborough. Each concert lasts approximately an hour; usually the last ten minutes are songs or dances that the children can join in on, with singing, actions, and an instrument from our box of unbreakable child-friendly musical instruments. Piccolo takes place on the first Thursday of every month except January and August, and has been running since September 2015.
