I am producing a pilot Book(ish) Club event made up of three sessions in early 2026, and I am putting together a youth panel of people aged 16 to 19 who want to help shape it.

The first youth panel meeting is on Saturday 13 December, 2.30 to 4pm, at Woodston Library, 68 Orchard Street, PE2 9AL.

What is the Book(ish) Club???

It is a cosy creative space where you can listen to stories, make things with your hands, and talk about the ideas that come up. You can draw, knit, paint, write, or just sit and listen. It is calm, friendly, and made for anyone who wants a break from loud or high pressure spaces. The pilot will test out what works best, and the youth panel will help decide the themes, readings, and creative activities.

The youth panel is the heart of this project. You will help guide what the sessions look and feel like, choose the readings, shape the themes, and give ideas for the creative making activities that happen in the events. This is your chance to influence something new and make sure it reflects the voices of young people.

I am also looking for young performers for the pilot events. If you sing, perform poetry, or play music, there are paid fifteen minute slots available.
