Nicholas Choong is a self taught visual and performance artist who, as a youngster, studied the finer arts of illustration, watercolours, woodcarving and batik.

After working as a graphic designer, photographer, and music producer for many years, he began making his mark as a career artist in 2011 with his first solo show in Epicenter Art Gallery, Petaling Jaya.

Since his inception into the world of art, Nicholas worked furiously and refined his techniques, ideas and experimentation, each failed painting leading onto the next new one.

His paintings have been featured in group and solo shows in various galleries around the Klang Valley, notably Artemis Art, Pelita Hati Gallery of Art, and Atelier Art Space.

With a steady repertoire of work, Nicholas also led several workshops at Alliance Francaise KL, L45 in Bangsar, and facilitated charity art workshops with kids with special needs. His paintings were also featured in Young Art Taipei 2015.

In 2015, Nicholas was appointed Key Visual Artist for Tiger Beer's arts and music festival TRANSLATE. Not resting on his laurels, Nicholas also performed 'The Artist is Present' at Awegallery in PJ, with a repeat performance at Theatrethreesixty's four-day arts festival in May 2016.

In ealy 2016, Nicholas opened his own studio and gallery, Satu Arts in Damansara Perdana, where he reads, sketches, paints, writes short stories, and tutors students on a one-to-one basis.
