Composti dal chitarrista Tom Brooke e dal batterista Tuomas Kainulainen, i NYOS sono noti per i loro concerti coinvolgenti e spesso fisicamente impegnativi, avendo girato intensamente durante il loro primo decennio di esistenza, inclusi tour a supporto di Zeal & Ardor, Esben and the Witch e The Comet Is Coming, nonché apparizioni a festival come il Sideways Festival di Helsinki, il Fekete Zaj in Ungheria e il Pelagic Fest nei Paesi Bassi. Il duo crea mondi sonori imponenti utilizzando i loop labirintici e le stratificazioni atmosferiche di Brooke insieme alla batteria cinetica di Kainulainen, in una musica ritmica, grezza ed eclettica.

Dalla loro formazione nel 2014, i NYOS si sono ritagliati un posto distintivo nella scena sperimentale e post-rock europea, caratterizzata dalla loro energia inarrestabile, dalla complessità poliritmica e dalle stratificazioni ipnotiche.

Pur rimanendo fedeli al loro caratteristico approccio basato sui loop, Growl è “più ambizioso dal punto di vista dei paesaggi sonori e delle composizioni”, afferma il chitarrista Tom Brooke, abbracciando naturalmente un suono più denso e strutturato, con maggiore attenzione all'atmosfera e alla tensione. 

La band sarà in tour per promuovere il loro settimo album in studio “Growl” nella seconda metà del 2025 e nel 2026.
