No prior painting experience is required-just a willingness to experiment and get a little messy.of the day, participants will explore a variety of experimental approach- es to painting, including playful mark-making, layered surfaces, and unexpected tools and materials.  We will work primarily with acrylics and mixed media (such as inks, col- lage, and simple found materials). The gallery environment will serve as both inspiration and informal exhibition space, encouraging participants to think about how their work lives in relation to others.This workshop is open to all levels, from beginners who are curious about painting to experienced artists looking to shake up their habits. No prior painting experience is required. 16-18 must be accompanied by a participating adult.What We'll DoWarm-up mark-making and color experiments to loosen the hand and eye. Exploration of layering, texture, and mixed media on paper or panel. Time in the afternoon to develop one small series or a more resolved piece. Group conversation about the work at the end of the day.Materials: A basic supply list will be provided; some shared experimental materials will be available on-site.
