Matt Dunne, guitarist, bassist, and composer, has had a distinguished career as a performer and composer in both jazz and classical music, playing at festivals, in concert halls, and in jazz
clubs. He has recorded CDs of classical guitar music, original jazz, and orchestral film music. He has written jazz influenced music for many classical guitar soloists and ensembles, including
Grammy winners David Russell and the Los Angeles Guitar Quartet, with several recordings of his music on major labels. He was a professor of music at the University of Texas at San
Antonio, where he directed the guitar program and taught jazz studies for 27 years. He has a DMA from UT Austin and a MM from Florida State University. Matt moved permanently to
Keene, NY in 2020 and since then has continued to perform, compose, and contribute to the area’s thriving arts scene, playing double bass in a variety of settings around the region. He is
the president and artistic director of East Branch Friends of the Arts in Keene and teaches part time at the Crane School of Music at SUNY Potsdam, where he earned the BM degree in the
1980s.
Steven Collier is a retired music teacher, having worked as the 7-12 grade choral teacher at AuSable Valley CSD for 33 years. He has a BM in Music Education from the Crane School of
Music and a MM in Music Ed from the College of Saint Rose. While at AVCS in addition to directing choral ensembles at both the middle school and high school levels he taught various
courses in music theory, general music and musical theater. As a pianist, he has accompanied many all-county, area all-state and local school groups and musicals. He is currently the accompanist for the Keeseville-Peru Ecumenical Choir. As a jazz pianist/singer, he continues to play in various settings including as a soloist and ensemble member and has collaborated with many fine jazz and classical musicians throughout the north country and Northeast. He has a CD to his credit, ‘A Song For My Father’. He also has served as pianist for noted singers Karen Mason from New York City and Cindy Scheffler from Minneapolis, for which he served as
arranger/pianist on her recording ‘Come a Little Closer’. He currently serves as Worship Leader at his church in Plattsburgh.
