The Inaugural Xceed Real Estate LGBTQIA+ Sport Awards are designed to uplift our community members and organisations who tirelessly work to create safe places for the LGBTQIA+ to play sport, advocate for people to play sport and promote inclusion to the wider community. The awards are a celebration designed by Team Perth to raise awareness of our LGBTQIA+ Sporting Community. The Awards are there to thank individuals and organisations for their tireless hard work - most of which is volunteer.

The Awards will be presented between 3pm and 5pm on the main stage during the Inaugural PrideFEST Club Day.  Inaugural Pride Club Day: Find Your Rainbow. Whether you’re sporty, artsy, musical—or just curious—there’s something for YOU! You also might think ahead to Gay Games 2030 – what have you really wanted to try?!

Club day begins at 11am and finishes at 5pm. During the day you will get to participate in activated activities and Team Perth will run its usual 'club vs club' tug of war! LETS GO! 

The day will culminate with award winners and then, to celebrate we will head to Queen of Clubs for the post Awards After Party with thanks to Connections Night Club. It will star some brilliant Perth Drag and the Cocktail Bar will be ready to roll! The event will also celebrate 50 Years of Pride & all the clubs at Club Day. 

To get you in the mood, here are the Award Categories:

- Youth Champion of the Year
Recognising a young person (under 25) making significant contributions to LGBTQIA+ inclusivity in sport in Perth and/or WA. This could be through advocacy, participation, volunteering or leadership.

- Team Perth Achievement Award
Celebrating an individual’s sustained and long-term contribution to LGBTQIA+ inclusion in sport. This individual has had a significant impact on the local community and is likely a life member or longstanding contributor.

- Inclusion Initiative of the Year
Highlighting a specific project, program, policy or campaign that has driven positive change for LGBTQIA+ inclusion in sport. Eligible nominees include clubs, sports bodies, events or external organisations.

- Volunteer of the Year
Acknowledging an outstanding volunteer who gives their time and energy to LGBTQIA+ sport and recreation. This person helps drive community, connection, and inclusivity through consistent, passionate involvement.

- Event of the Year
Recognising an event that has showcased best practice in LGBTQIA+ inclusion, visibility and celebration. This could be a tournament, Pride round, social event, or community sporting celebration. The event needs to be connected to LGBTQIA+ sport or creating impact in sport inclusion.

- Visibility in Media Award
For individuals or campaigns that have amplified LGBTQIA+ sporting voices, issues, or achievements through media, journalism, storytelling, or content creation in Perth and/or WA.

- President or Club Leader of the Year
Honouring a club leader who demonstrates exceptional dedication to inclusivity, community building, and forward-thinking leadership within their organisation/club and/or social group.

- Team Perth LGBTQIA+ Club of 2025
Awarded to a 'Team Perth Member Club' that exemplifies inclusion, visibility, and community spirit. This club actively encourages diversity, empowers participation, and creates a safe space for all identities.

-Ally Award
Recognising a non-LGBTQIA+ individual, organisation, or group that has made a significant contribution to LGBTQIA+ sporting inclusion. Their actions demonstrate meaningful support, advocacy and positive impact.

- People’s Choice Award
Celebrating the most nominated individual or organisation across all categories, this award recognises a person whose impact has resonated strongly with the community. Each nomination represents a voice of appreciation—together, they shine a spotlight on someone who inspires, uplifts, and truly embodies inclusion in LGBTQIA+ sport.
