This also includes parents/carers who have been registered for some time but have not attended Practical Understanding of Autism within the previous 2-3 years, so we can ensure that everyone has the most up to date thinking and approach for supporting our children and young people.This course is aimed at parents and professionals working with young adults (aged 14 years plus). It will explore the fears of young people and parents in this transition period and highlight why developing skills is key to managing feelings of anxiety and leading a fulfilled life. We will explore some key areas to consider promoting independent skills in: including money, socialising and relationships, independent travel and life skills, by working together to think about this. We will offer some top tips to help and give you the opportunities to make a plan of what you can do next. This is a workshop where alongside the facilitators, attendees will be able to work together doing practical tasks to develop and support knowledge.
