- **Event Description**: We are excited to invite you to join our Band Manager and Bassist, Jessie Smoor at the new ECU City Campus in June. Jessie will be speaking about her intentions, creative process and progress toward an end of year recital of varied original works for jazz orchestra performed by Swing Shift Big Band.
For her final year at WAAPA, Jessie has chosen to focus on composition for large ensemble to explore her artistic voice and celebrate her love of big band music.
As part of the lecture, Jessie will play recordings of her works in progress from Swing Shift rehearsals as well as a recording of her modal jazz piece "Limerence" written for WAAPA's own art orchestra Here/NOW, performed in the ECU City Campus, McCusker Recital Hall.
