- **Event Description**: Back Forty Artisan Cheese is celebrating 10 years on the farm with the return of Curds and Cooks on Saturday, June 27 from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m., rain or shine.

Set on the scenic grounds of our sheep dairy and creamery in North Frontenac, Curds and Cooks brings together artisan food producers, craft beverage makers, live music, and award-winning raw sheep milk cheeses for a full afternoon of food, drink, and community.

This year’s festival features an incredible lineup of Ontario producers including Perth Pie Co., Basic Kneads Bakery, Tasha’s Table, Fine Chocolate by Ludwig Ratzinger, and new this year, Mi Cocina serving Mexican-inspired nachos and fresh-made salsas.

The beverage lineup includes Revel Cider from Guelph, Slake Brewing from Prince Edward County, Kin Vineyards from Carp, and Perth’s own Artizen Beverage Company. Guests will have the opportunity to sample craft cider, wine, beer, cocktails, and kombucha while meeting many of the makers behind the products.

Live music will run throughout the afternoon featuring Ottawa reggae collective Aurora’s Reef alongside Roots Movement Band, bringing roots reggae, ska, soulful rhythms, and laid-back summer energy to the farm all day long.

Festival fare will feature Back Forty’s own heritage breed meats and farm ingredients including whey-fed smoked pork, grass-fed lamb, pastured organic chicken, and plenty of cheese-focused specialties.

We’re also excited to bring back our guided tasting sessions this year, where guests can taste through featured cheeses alongside Cheese Sommelier Vanessa Simmons and learn directly from the Cheesemaker. We’ll also be tasting some very special new varieties that guests will be among the first to try.

Admission is free and everyone is welcome.

Please bring cash. While most vendors and our cheese shop can process card payments, rural internet access can be unreliable and shouldn't be relied on exclusively.
