- **Event Description**: Created by Culture Perth and Kinross’ Youth Collective, this youth-led fashion show explores 100 years of youth culture through 10 upcycled looks – one per decade from the 1930s to 2020s.  Styled using second hand clothing with the help of Social Flock, and using the Lend and Mend facilities in AK Bell Library, each outfit will reflect the style, spirit, and social context of its era and be accompanied by an original short film created by the Collective.

The show highlights fashion as a form of identity, protest and change while also addressing sustainability and ethical challenges within the fashion industry.   Alongside the catwalk, the evening will also feature a talk by Amulree Welch from Remake in Crieff.  Entirely created by 16-25 years olds, this event blends fashion, heritage, creativity and activism through community action and storytelling.

Additional information

The Lend & Mend Hub is a dedicated space at the AK Bell Library that offers free access to tools for repairing, reusing, and upcycling textiles.

Social Flock is a local organisation that provides a platform for the people of Perth and Kinross to support their community and uplift others by providing quality second-hand clothing to those in need, reducing waste and supporting community well-being. Their involvement reinforces the event’s message about ethical consumption and local action.

Remake is a community reuse charity based at the Crieff Visitor Centre in Perthshire, which encourages the reuse of materials to benefit communities and inspires the choice of second-hand items as the first option.
