Performers Bios:

Award Winning jazz vocalist, educator recording academy voting member and recording label owner Donna E. Scott has been wowing audiences at festivals, jazz clubs and clinics in the US and abroad. Donna’s rich, sultry, contralto voice emerges from her love of all genres and doubling as a talented multi-instrumentalist. “Singing really contributed to a fuller sound on the bass trombone,” Scott says. Scott recently participated in the Grammy nominated album, The Colors In My Mind, a new age project highlighting neurodivergence and other disabilities.

Professor of Music Pete Ford (keyboard), a proud member of Local 15-286, is now in his twenty-third year of teaching at Adrian College. He earned a Bachelor of Science and Master of Arts degrees from Indiana State University. There he was mentored in Music Theory by Dr. John Ibberson and Dr. William Denton. Professor Ford’s teaching at Adrian College is further informed by additional study of serious composition (with teachers including David Ott and John Muehleisen) and jazz piano (with Gene Parker and Mark Kieswetter), coupled with an active gigging presence across the Midwest in various popular styles from solo piano to rock band to jazz combo to big band. In the late 1980’s he co-wrote and recorded several commercial jingles and musical post-scores for commercial productions in the Indianapolis market.

Norman Damschroder (bass) is a Senior Lecturer of Music at the University of Toledo, joining the faculty as instructor of double bass and jazz studies in 1997. He holds a Bachelor of Music (Jazz Emphasis) from University of Toledo and a Master of Music Performance from Bowling Green State University. Damschroder has served as the conductor of the UToledo Symphony Orchestra since 2020 and has also conducted the Greater Toledo International Youth Orchestra, the Toledo Jazz Orchestra and the UT Summer String Orchestra Workshop.
