America turned 250 this summer, and the Heights is keeping the celebration going.

The Great Heights Jamboree brings eleven hours of music, food, family, and community pride to Tower Park. Honor the past. Inspire the future. 1776 to 2026.

Honoring those who served

The day opens with welcome remarks from Mayor Matt Wigginton at noon, followed at 12:15 by a Military Recognition Ceremony acknowledging the veterans and active duty service members who live in our community. The ceremony features an Honor Guard presentation by the Marines and Freedom Paws, with the Armed Forces Hymn and a military tribute to follow at 12:30. A military display presented by Mike Lierle will be on the grounds throughout the day, and Freedom Paws will host charity basket raffles supporting their work with veterans. We close the evening the way we opened it, with a final military tribute at 8:45 PM.

For the whole family

Bring the kids and plan to stay a while. Tower Park will have a bounce house play area, face painting by Holly Johnson of Expressions Body Art & Design, and balloon art from Doug Smith of The Unique Twist. Free carriage rides courtesy of Ted Tarvin will run throughout the day, along with free rides to the top of the Heights Tower and free popcorn and patriotic giveaways from Richwoods Township. Keep an eye out for Abraham Lincoln himself, brought to life by impersonator Rick Otey.

Eat, drink, and stay

Local food vendors and a beer tent will be open all day. Sisters in Support will be serving apple and cherry pie, and at 4:45 PM, Frank's Hot Dog Eating Contest takes center stage.

Live music from 1 PM to 11 PM

Ten hours of live music across five acts, from traditional Americana in the afternoon to a full band closing out the night. Bring a lawn chair or a blanket and settle in.

The Great Heights Jamboree is made possible by the Village of Peoria Heights, various community partners, and local volunteers.
