- **Event Description**: On Thursday, September 11, 2025, the Peoria County Genealogical Society will hold its monthly member meeting at the Peoria Public Library North Branch to hear from Ava Kamm, owner of Peoria Camera Shop. She will present her program entitled: Photo Restoration and Preservation, and will share practical tips and tricks for restoring and preserving photographs. She will be joining us in person. Participants may join via Zoom or in person.

Do you find yourself squinting at tiny 2” x 3” portraits from the 1930s, wondering if larger prints could reveal more detail, or even help identify the people in them? Are you unsure of the best steps to take to ensure these memories last for future generations?
Ava purchased Peoria Camera Shop in 2022 after the previous owner passed away. Her purchase ensured the continuation of this historic business, which first opened in 1937 as Rex Camera in downtown Peoria.

During her talk, Ava will discuss how the shop’s sophisticated equipment and expertise can assist in your preservation efforts. You’ll also learn about the various workshops Peoria Camera offers to the community. Join us for an evening for plenty of tips and tricks. 

Free and open to the public.
