Join us for an afternoon of colour, calm, and creativity as we explore two beautiful dye traditions:

? Natural Dyeing

Discover the hidden colours in everyday plants and kitchen scraps — from onion skins to rosemary — and learn how to coax gentle, organic shades from nature.

? Japanese Shibori

Try your hand at this ancient Japanese resist-dye technique. By folding, binding, and dipping cloth into indigo, you’ll reveal striking blue-and-white patterns that are always full of surprise.

You’ll be provided with cotton squares to experiment on, as well as a cotton tote bag to dye and take home. If you’d like, you’re welcome to bring along small natural-fibre fabrics (cotton, linen, silk) to use in the indigo vat — as Shibori doesn’t require prior preparation — though please note that priority will be given to the workshop materials, and own fabrics can only be dyed if there is enough time and dye available.

These workshops are about slowing down and enjoying mindful making together — reviving age-old traditions in a relaxed and welcoming space. Whether you come on your own or bring a friend or loved one, you’ll leave with beautiful, hand-dyed pieces and the calm satisfaction of having made them yourself.
